Long time, no BLOG!

Wow. It's been a good long while since i hace blogged! Life has been busy as can be! ;) i have lot's of pix and lot's of catching up to do. Here is a real quick summary....

Picture you photography is bigger then ever. I have been busy doing that and i am working at Fotogenix Studios in Sandy as a Photographer as well. I love love love my job! I feel so lucky! ;) Garrett is still in Culinary School full time and he is also working full time, it's rough, but i am so thankful for him getting school done and keeping our lives going. He is getting to be such an amazing cook! I LOVE having a chef for a hubby, i'm double lucky!! Anyhoo... We are offically out of Spanish Fork (for good) We are now living in a town home in Cottenwood Heights, and we couldn't be happier. We are in such an awesome location!!

That really sums up our lives for the past 7 months. I will be better about keeping you all up to date with what's going on with the B&G Curtis Fam!! ;)

OH MY HECK!!! I am so excited to go to Hawaii! Only 10 more days and we leave! I am so ready to hit the beach and soak up the sun! This weather is driving me nuts, so it will be a nice change for a week! We are so thankful to be able to go! Steve and Kathy (my in-laws) are taking all the kids which includes, Scott, Megan & Ethen, Tash, Garrett & I, and little muchkin Chloe! We couldn't be happier! I feel so lucky to have married into such an amzing family! Thank you Steve and Kathy for everything you do for Garrett and i, we love you both so much and don't know what we would do without you! : ) Well now that your all sooooo jealous, ha ha ha, Jk, i am just really excited and though i would share it with you all! Don't hate me too much..... Well love you all and stay tuned........

Hello there!!!

Well Hello Everyone! Yes we are still alive! hahaha! I have just been a complete slacker and that's my only explanation! I guess i will start where i left off.....We had an amazing first Christmas married! We have already had 5 Christmas's together, but this year, we were married and it was even better! We decided to just spend Christmas Eve at our house alone and then went to both parents during the day! Garrett's birthday is the day after Christmas so the family went and stayed up in Deer Valley for the weekend! It was so much fun!! We enjoyed lot's of food, and played games pretty much all day and night! It was a blast! We also had an amazing New Years! We threw a party at our house and it turned out to be a huge hit! Feb, was a great month too!! Garrett started Culinary school and my photography took off better then ever! Garrett is loving school and i am so proud of him! He is such an amazing cook, and i would have to say i am a damn lucky wife to have him! I am really focusing on my photography and I'm hoping to take it to the next level very soon! I love it and it's my dream career! Valentines Day was so much fun this year! We just stayed home, cooked our own Tepanyaki meal, watched movies and just enjoyed our first Valentines Day married too!! March has been pretty busy, with Garrett going to school full time and working at Outback Steakhouse, he is really tired! He just finished his first quarter last week and is enjoying a week break! I just quit working at my moms work, and I'm focusing on finish dental assisting and like i said hoping to expand my photography a ton! I cannot believe April is right around the corner! This year is flying by so fast! We are so excited for April to be here because Garrett's parents are taking all us kids to Hawaii! We leave the 11Th and come home on the 18Th! We couldn't be more grateful and SUPER excited!!!!! Hopefully by the time we get home, this winter wonderland weather will be done and over with! So.... Now that i have caught you all up, i will share a few pix! Hope you enjoy, and i will try and be better about keeping you all up to date with whats been going on in our lives!!! : ) ~Bre

It's Christmas Time!

As you can tell i am super excited for Christmas! Now that Thanksgiving is over we can offically start celebrating it! I put my tree up this weekend and have been doing some holiday baking! I love this time of year! You just feel so warm and fuzzy inside and out! Shopping for others is my most favorite thing ever! I espically love shopping for my hubby! Even though he doesn't love it! hehe, this year has been hard money wise so Garrett and I have decided to do a smaller gift, and fill our stockings for eachother! Honestly, the stocking is my favorite thing to open Christmas morning! I just love it!!! :) Garrett's birthday is the day after Christmas, so i actually get to do two presents i am pretty excited about that! :) We are doing something really special for our grandparents and our parents this year and i cannot wait to see how they like it! I am really looking forward to all the Christmas parties that are happening over the next couple weeks, and then Christmas is going to be here before we know it! YIPPIE!!! Can't wait!!! I would love to hear about all of your favorite Christmas excitments! Tash i already know what yours is! he he!!! Just kidding! I love you Tash!

I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is already here! It seems like it was just barely Halloween, and now its Thanksgiving! AHHH! I guess i can't complain though, i mean come on, who doesn't like eating all day long until you feel like your going to barf! The best part is, even though you feel like you going to hurl, you still just keep on eating the entire day! hahaha! Oh well, thats tht best part! This year Garrett and I are going up to his parents new home in Highland for our Thanksgiving dinner! I am so excited to see everyone and just spend some good quality time with the Fam! We are going to try and stop at my moms on the way home and have dessert, YUMMY!!!! I can't wait! As for BLACK FRIDAY, Garrett and I aren't going to join in on the crazy day this year! As fun as it is watching all of the crazy moms, and dads do everything in thier power to get what they want for thier kids, we pretty much have all of our shopping done! YAY!! I am going to kind of miss watching the insane people this year but, we'll just wait until next year! Anyway, i hope you all have an amazing holiday, remember to eat your hearts out!!!!

Ok. I have to blog about this beause it has been going on now for a couple weeks now! First it started with a little ear ache! Then it goes to my throat and my neck hurts to touch. Then just when i started feeling a little better, my ear ache gets even worse! Ok, then i start feelling completly well for like 2 days and yesterday my right ear started hurting AGAIN! Then last night my throat was so sore it hurt to drink a glass of milk. I took some medicine and slept through the night and woke up this morning with a plugged nose and an even more sore throat! My glands are swollen, my neck is sore and i can barely talk without sounding like im talking through my nose! UGH!!!! Oh and you are probably asking yourself, "why not go to the doctor?" Well i will tell you why! We don't have insurance until the beginning of December! Yep that just tops this all off, right! :(

YAY!!!! It finally snowed! I absoutly love the snow! It is so beautiful, and clean looking! It makes it feel like Christmas is right around the corner and who can't love that feeling??

I found this cute story and i wanted to share it with you all:

Snow Day

My phone rings at 7am, waking me from a quality dream.

"Look outside" you whisper"What? Who? What time is it? Go back to bed"

"Look outside" I get out of bed and stagger to the window, phone in hand"It's snowing" I say"Would you like to come to the park and play in the snow with me?" you ask

"Yes please" I reply. I dress quickly and brush my teeth. I dig out a pair of gloves and a scarf from the cupboard and leave the house. It's about an hour before sunrise. Everything looks blue, clean, alien. The sound of my shoes against the ground brings back memories from my childhood, back when it used to snow every winter and we'd spend days off school sledging down hills and stuffing snowballs down each-other's coats. I love snow. I assume that the tubes won't be running so I take the bus. The commuters are grumbling, the "f%*!ing snow" has made them late. These people have forgotten what really matters. I bounce up and down in my seat and strain to see out of the steamed up windows. We roll down the high street past boarded up buildings, smashed up telephone boxes, Poundland. Usually a soul-crushingly ugly and dead place, the high street is now alive, beautiful, magic. I wipe tears from my eyes and dial your number. You pick up after one ring."I'm on the bus, almost there" I say "where shall I meet you?" "Don't worry about that, I'll find you" "No, come on, where?"You hang up. We come to my stop and I wave goodbye to all the passengers. Only an old drunk waves back. I jump off and walk through the park gates. The park is empty apart from a few dog walkers. I can't see you anywhere. I sit down on a bench and wait. A snowball hurtles past me, smashing against the bench. I stand up and turn around. The next one hits me square in the face. I duck, narrowly escaping another blow to the head. I hear you running up behind me. I swivel round and you jump on top of me knocking me to the floor. Your cheeks are pink and your eyes wild. I haven't seen you in weeks.

"Hello" I say

"Did I surprise you?"

"No"

"Yes I did"

"Okay, yes you did"

"Close your eyes."

I close my eyes. You put your face right up close to mine, so that the tips of our noses are touching. I can smell your mouthwash. YES, i'll admit it! I am so freaking excited about this movie! haha, and YES i already have my tickets! The midnight showing was sold out so my friends and i settled for the 10 AM showing the morning it comes out! We are so excited!!!!!

Twilight Summary:

"When seventeen year-old Bella Swan leaves sunny Arizona to live with her father in the small and gloomy Pacific North-West town of Forks she doesn’t expect to like it. After all she has made excuses not to go there enough times over the past few years. If living in Forks, with its constant mist and rain, wasn’t bad enough she will have to make a whole new set of friends and settle into a new school.
Bella soon makes some new friends at school but when she sees a boy called Edward Cullen sitting with his brothers and sisters in the cafeteria she is instantly intrigued. SAD! The best day of the year has come and gone, but we made some great memories to keep with us forever! This Halloween Garrett and i decided we needed to throw a Monster Mash Party! You could only come if you were in costume and it turned out funner than we imagined. My friend Richelle and I spent the entire day slaving over the stove makeing cookies, deviled eggs, dips, and other goodies to make our party better then ever! We got to spend time with old friends and laughed our asses off all night! The party was a big hit!!

As you all know, Garrett and I are in the middle of moving into our new home! Moving is going well, very slow but well. As we have been moving i have been trying to think of how i could decorate the house so it doesn't look and feel so empty. Well.... Scariest Movie I have ever seen!!

Last night Garrett and i went out to a movie! We absolutely love scary movies, so we went and saw Quarantine! OMG!!!! This movie was so damn scary. I usually do pretty good with scary movies and Garrett hardly ever gets scared, but this movie seriously scared the shit out of us!! Excuse the French, but it was that scary! It is a must see!!!

Changing

Over the past few weeks i have noticed a change in myself. I can't quite put my thumb on what it is that is changing, but there is something. I don't know if it is just me growing up, if the marriage is finally settling in, or if it's that i have buckled down and am taking school alot more serious. It's not a bad changing feeling, it's more of an accomplished feeling. I am really enjoying looking at my life through this changing or whatever it is i'm going through. I love my husband and i have been so much more appreciative of him and the things he does for me. My family is growing (meaning my mom is getting married) and i couldn't be more excited. I absoultly love going to school, it feels so good to know excatly what i want to do with my life, it makes it that much more enjoyable and exciting. Garrett is going to Culinary School and it's great he has finally decided to get his career started too. Life is great right now, i'm really enjoying this change.

Yep! We are moving AGAIN!!! YAY!

NOT! I am really excited to where we are moving but, ugh.... packing again sucks really bad! Anywhoo, we are so so greatful and lucky to be moving into my in-laws old home in good ol SF! Its a beautiful "A" frame house by the old junior high school. Its way bigger then Garrett and I need, but it doesn't need to be sitting there all empty and alone..... right! haha! We are moving on the 18th, and can't be more excited!!!!!

P.S. We need a fridge, help keep your eyes open for a reasonable priced one, or if you know anyone that is selling one, PLEASE let me know! Thanks love ya'll!!

I thought i would let you all in on a little bit of what i have been going through lately in regards to school and such. I have finally decided nursing isn't for me. I have always "thought" i wanted to be a nurse, but after careful consideration i have truly decided on Dental Hygiene! I am so excited to get my career started. I have always been back and forth between dental and nursing. Recently a loved one was put in ICU with pneumonia and it was a lot for me to handle. I do well with blood and the medical procedures, it's the stress of knowing someones life is in my hands that scares the crap out of me. Also after losing my dad, death is a really hard thing for me to handle, and if anything ever happened on my watch, i am not sure i could handle that stress again...... So, after thinking long and hard, i decided i want to pursue my other career option, and become a Dental Hygienist. Maybe even go on to become a Dentist. I am starting a Dental Assisting program Monday the 6Th, and i couldn't be more excited! I figured Dental would be the next best thing to nursing because it still has that medical feel, and i am still helping someone out! So there you go! Keep your smiles bright, you maybe in my chair very soon!!!!

So i vented last night about not being able to find a job. Well guess what. I went in for an interview today and got the job. It's nothing real big, but it will be great for school!! I am going to be working in the Mail room at my moms work. DHI! I will work 12-6 Mon thru Fri! Yippie! Perfect! Anyway thanks for letting me vent! Im over it now! :)

Ok.
So i quit my job. I had good reasoning no worries.
I tell my boss i need to cut on some hours so i can go to school. From day one she new i was going to go to school; so i tell her and she says, well you are full time and you cannot cut on patients, therefore you either have to quit or just go PRN. So i decide to start looking for another job. Finally i found a job as a nanny up in Salt Lake. So i put in my 2 weeks, finish, and by that time i decide not to take the nanny job. (Just wasn't for me) Anyway, by that time it was too late to get more patients.
So now, im the jobless, wife that sits at home...... UGH!

Where it all began.......

Its kind of cliche for me to say it was "Love at first sight", but it truly was. Here is our story...

It was June 2004, Garrett picked up my friend and i from her house to go to a party. The whole drive up to the party Garrett was lookin at me in the rear view, needless to say i was too! We had never met before and it was just amazing the chemistry we had instantly! We arrived at the party, hung out, talked and played foosball! Me being the typical girl i was talkin crap sayin i could beat his butt, when really i knew i would loose. Well he kicked my ass! haha, anyway we started to warm up to eachother and decided we wanted to go out and jump on the trampoline, and maybe get to know eachother a little better. We started talking, and talking and talking, and before i knew it, it was time for me to go home. He offered to give me a ride! I remember being so excited and nervous all at the same time. When we arrived at my house, he finally worked up the courage to ask me for my number! Thank god! haha, and we have been together every day since then! Love you babe!

The Proposal!

Ok women! You know what i am talkin about when i say, us women just have those days where we are mad at the world for no good reason. Well.... Feb 9, 2008 just so happened to be one of those days. I didn't know why i was so grumpy and upset but i was. Garrett being the amazing person he is, was doing anything and everything to just make me smile. Anyway, garrett told me he wanted to go get him a nice shirt for Valentines day because he had a special night planned. He had it in my mind that we were getting engaged on Valentines day so, i was all up for getting him something nice to propose to me in! haha anyway we went out to lunch to our favorite place, The Training Table, and then headed to the mall. We walked in the University Mall by Macy's. We started walkin out into the mall toward the Build a Bear workshop, when i noticed Garrett's mom and little sister were outside Build a Bear takin pictures. I was thinkin Kathy was crazy, why in the heck is she takin pictures of Chloe holding a stuffed dog in front of Build a Bear?.....

Anyway we walk up to them and are just talkin! Chloe is showing me her cute Valentines Day poodle she made. Then she starts telling me, "push her hand she talks" so im holding this stuffed animal up to my ear trying to hear what it says..... I push the hand again and it's all " WILL YOU MARRY ME?" and me being a blonde dumb ass, asks " Will you marry me? Why does it say that???" then POOF it clicks!! I turn to my left to see Garrett down on one knee asking me " Will you marry me, babe!" I instantly broke down! Im balling, he is crying. Kathy is snappin pictures and balling. It was just perfect! Totally threw me off gaurd! So the funny thing was, here is this moment i have been waiting for, for so long, the man of my dreams has this beautiful ring in front of my face and all i can say is " I am so sorry for being so mean to you today!" i felt so bad!

" so is that a YES??", Garrett asks? Finally i blurt out "OF COURSE!!! YES, YES, YES!!!" It was a day i will never forget!
